Kentish Town Victorian Terrace: Complete Interior & Exterior

A young family in Kentish Town needed their three-bedroom Victorian terrace fully redecorated inside and out before their second child arrived. The property required a complete interior refresh across all rooms including a nursery, plus repainting of the front facade which had become tired and flaky. With a baby due in eight weeks, the timeline was non-negotiable. The family — including a toddler — would remain in the home throughout, so paint safety and minimal disruption were paramount. The clients were keen to use eco-friendly products throughout and had a moderate budget that needed careful management.

Key Challenges

We developed a detailed room-by-room schedule that allowed the family to continue living comfortably, always maintaining at least one fully usable living space and one bedroom. We specified Earthborn paints throughout — their Claypaint for walls is zero-VOC, EU Ecolabel certified, and completely safe for families with young children. The nursery was painted first and sealed off to allow maximum airing time before the baby's arrival. We chose Earthborn Lifestyle emulsion in Piglet for the nursery, with Claypaint in Nellie for the main living areas and Claypaint in White Clay for bedrooms. All woodwork was finished in Earthborn Eco Chic eggshell. Outside, we prepared and repainted the front facade with Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint, cleaning the original brickwork surrounds and painting the render, window frames, and front door. The front door received a striking Farrow & Ball Hague Blue in exterior eggshell to add character. We operated a strict clean-as-you-go policy with HEPA-filtered dust extraction and covered all family belongings with protective sheets each morning.
